Latest Mama Bone Love

Artist Susan Williamson came down from Boston to meet Mama Red, after reading One Good Mama Bone, which she discovered at a Massachusetts library. Here is the painting her soul produced, which totally captures Mama Red’s. I cry every time I look at it.

Some of the wonderful gifts I’ve received while barnstorming:

A cow mug and hand-painted thank you note from the Cresswind Bookmates of Myrtle Beach, SC

The afghan Elizabeth Potts crocheted for me, using the colors of Mama Red (Brentwood. TN)

A 1893 painting — “Cows on Oil” — given by Alma at the Kirby Pines Retirement Center in Memphis, TN

Painting of Mama Red by Jackson, MS artist Henry Muse

A carved red bull given by bookseller Cindy at Book Exchange in Marietta, GA.

Rainbow, given by God, as I approached the first book club I met with — the Edisto Beach gals
